Ihor Pidhorecky, MD, FACS

Dr. Pidhorecky was born and raised in NYC. There, he attended New York University and completed his medical training at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed a two-year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the renowned Roswell Park Cancer Institute. While at Roswell, Dr. Pidhorecky was very active in research in melanoma, breast cancer, colon cancer, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors.

Since 2000, Dr. Pidhorecky has been a welcome addition to the medical staff, serving as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice Chief of Surgery, Chief of Surgery, Medical Director of Surgical Oncology and Director of the Pancreatic Surgery Program at Memorial Healthcare System (MHS). He is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Since 2012 he is proud to be an Honorary Chair in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).

He has been active in clinical research and teaching. He recently was recognized by the Surgical Residency Program at MHS as an outstanding teacher.

His primary focus is complex Surgical Oncology cases with expertise in esophageal, hepatopancreatic biliary, gastric, colorectal, melanoma/soft tissue, breast, and endocrine tumors.
